I'm worried about my hamster!?

My hamster has a little bare spot on his back. Like its black there and not very big. So its not skin showing (I hope) It almost looks like he chewed it off. Like picture a shaved head. Just a tiny bit of REEEAALY short hair. Dose he have mange or somthing. What caused this and what can I do about it? Thankyou SOO much!

take your hamster to the vet and get it checked out.

My baby hamster Sam never got that that I noticed...but you might want to take him to the vet just to make sure. Hope he's okay!! Good luck!

Are they actually on his back or more on his side?  I found two little black spots on my hamsters back more towards the side and freaked out and took them to the vet but it was only their scent glands.

Mange would be no hair there.  He could have had irritated skin that was itching him and he ended up sort of shaving the fur in that area.  I think some hamsters have darker fur underneath, and so that is what you are seeing that looks black.  If there are two then it probably is the scent glands like Carissa said.
