i have a very bad relationship with my father... he gets very angry and i also do, but only at home when im fighting with him. when i get really angry, i hurt myself and bang my head into the wall and punch myself hard. i'm alright with that i know its not good and its not good to get angry either but the point is, lately after geting angry, im finding it hard to breathe and i cough when i try to breathe more then a little at a time. it hurts to breathe normally. it used to be like this only a month ago (that's when it started) it only happened if i to a deeper breath than usual. should i go to a doctor? i'd really rather not, that is why im asking if i should. thanks.

  1. well sometimes when you are breathing dust gets into the air and you are inhaling the dust so it makes you cough

    and every time you cant

its cause you have to much air

  2. Yes, you need to go to the doctor.  Something has happened due to injury or illness (it may not be related to the fights) that is causing you to have this pain.  Don't delay in seeing your doctor.  It could be something minor or it could be very serious.

It also sounds like you and your father need counseling for anger management.  You don't tell us your age, but during our teen years with puberty, our emotions can become very extreme.  You need to try very hard to control your emotions, especially your anger.  It's not normal for people to harm themselves, even in anger.  I urge you to seek some type of counseling, either through your school, church, or workplace.  There should also be some type of free clinic in your area that will provide free counseling.

Good luck with your situation, but go today to let a doctor check your injuries.

  3. Your first priority is to see a doctor. If you can't breathe that well it is pretty serious.

You might have athsma or something.

Stop hurting yourself, it's no good for calming your anger no matter what you think. If you want to calm your anger, sing or listen to music or jsut get some fresh air. Always does the trick.

You and your father really need to fix your relationship.
