My daughter is now 15 months but she cant walk on her own, she holds on to things and is taking a couple of steps now and then. I have three nieces and they were walking on their own by 13 months. Should i be worried?

  1. My son is almost 15 months old and has only been walking for a couple months. I started getting really worried as his first birthday came and went and nothing. I started looking for toys for him to walk behind and found a few that looked great but one that stood out and had great reviews at all the stores was the fisher price stride to ride lion. He had this for just a couple days and was walking great. The toy is really stable and didnt roll too fast at all. I was really concerned about that part of it because he wasnt really stable on his feet and I didnt want it to get away from him and him end up "face planting" the floor. Didnt have any issues and he still loves it.. All the main stores have them and usually have them in stock. I wouldnt worry too much about her not walking completely though.. If she is taking a few steps here and there she will be running everywhere soon.. Months went by and all my husband and I said was that we wish he would walk.. Now seems like I spend my days telling him to sit down :)

  2. no ,children develop at different rates.

my oldest daughter had 6 teeth at 5 months old, my 4 year old didn't get her first tooth until she was 13 months old..!!

don't worry about it ,she"ll walk when she"s ready to.

  3. course not, let it come naturally, and when she does start to walk, and run, and climb, you will sometimes wish she was still only 15 mths. old (no not really) be patient

  4. Kids just learn at different times. Just help her practice and make trying to walk a fun thing for her. When the times right and SHES ready shell walk.

  5. no children all develope in there own time all my sons were over 18 months before they walked she will get the hang of it soon and thats when the fun starts nothing will be safe

    enjoy her

  6. She will develop on her own time. Don't be worried, walking takes some children alot longer than others. Some have it before they are one and others aren't ready until they are around 18 months. And much to mothers' dismay we have to go by our children's schedule, if she wants to wait to walk till she is 17 months you will just have to wait with her. You can't pressure her, because that will just make you more dissapointed if she does take a while. Most likely she will realize that she wants to be walking like everyone else and will get up the stamina and confidence to do it. Good Luck! And keep being a wonderful parent.

  7. since she is putting weight on her feet, she just seems to be a slow starter - nothing to be worried about until she reaches 18 months and then i would take her to the doctor.

  8. babies do stuff when they are ready.  she is showing signs of walking, she is probably fine.

  9. You daughter is close to walking on her own, and all babies learn at their own pass.

I watched 2 little girls, who were not related. Both, were small/petite babies. They both started walking a few day before turning 16 months.

One of the girls, crawled for so long, that she wore holes in the knees of her her pants. It's the only time, I've seen that happen.

    You don't need to worry.

  10. 2 months is not a big difference in age.  I don't think you need to be worried, but ask you pediatrician during your next wellness visit.
