My daughter is 5 months old, she won't take her bottle and i've tried loads. She hasn't eaten or had a bottle for 18 hours now..but shes throwing up alot :( before that i gave her a bit of crushed banana and she didn't like it and threw up after that. I'm really worried, i'm only 17 and don't go all "young father" and that on me i'm really worried for my daughter and would appreciate some help.

Thanks

  1. i would either call your dr or take her to the ER cause it could be something serious and you don't want to put your baby's life at risk

  2. If your nearest hospital has an advice line, you should call them and ask a nurse. If not, and you have insurance such as healthy start or caresource, they have 24 hour advice lines so you can call them. The nurse will ask you to describe the symptoms and then tell you if she needs to be seen, and if she doesn't they'll tell you what you can do at home. If you don't have insurance or an advice line, than you should call the hospital where her doctor is and make a same day. If they're not open, (I don't know your timezone.) then take her to the nearest urgent care or emergency center you can.

My guess is you introduced a food she's allergic to within the last 48 hours. That's how my daughter always reacted when we inadvertently gave her something she coudn't tolerate.

  3. Take her to the hospital bone head!

  4. your daughter may have  tummy bug, in which case the best thing to do is stop trying to get her to eat, the best way to kill a tummy bug is to starve it so it dies, repeteadly feeding your daughter is feeding the bug making her continually sick, they say starve a tummy bug for 24 hours, then introduce plain foods such as dry biscuists, but make sure your daughter gets enough fluids so she doesnt dyhdrate.

If your daughter gets a high temp or a rash get her to a doc straight away.

  5. Definitely call the doctor, but in the meantime, be sure to keep her hydrated. Soak a clean washcloth with cool water, gently wring it out, and let her suck on it to get some liquid.

Good luck, I'm sure she'll be fine!

  6. best to call the doctor,it may be nothing to worry about but children can deteriorate so quickly its best to make sure

  7. if your worried go and see your doc, health visitor or go to ur nearest a & e. when did you last feed her, does she have a temperature, what is her temper like. if her temperature is high give her some calpol and take her to docs or a n e, theres a risk your daughter could get dehydrated and would therefore need iv fluid to rehydrate her. i would just be on the safe side and take her to hospital. they wont judge you at the end of the day you have a baby whos not eating and if shes not eating im guessing that she is ill with a temperature which you will need to find out reasons why shes not eating. it maybe she just has a tummy bug but better safe than sorry

  8. that's the problem with bottle feeding, it holds a higher risk for food poisoning which may be the case.

i would call nhs direct helpline http://www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/

they can transfer you through to a Doctor who can give you advice and may set up a home visit.

dont panic it might be that she's teething. get advice from a Doctor asap.

    goodluck

    i hope

  9. I would take her to the DR. Is she peeing? If she is not that is a sign of dehaydraytion. Check to see if she has a fever?  Could she be teething? Give her some pedialyte and call the DR.
