  1. If you're writing about tourism, you have to include San Miguel de Allende. It is one of the top tourist spots in Mexico, both for foreign tourists and for Mexicans traveling in their own country.

I could write reams here, but it's easier to just chek out hte San Miguel website below.

  2. Write about the bizarre food we like to eat!!!

I love cow brain tacos, they taste heavenly. Don't be discouraged by the grossness of eating a cow's brain, mexicans wouldn't eat it if it didn't taste so good. It's kind of like paté but more solid, tastes more like beef and it tastes fattening.

Moronga is fried animal blood. I've tried something similar called Morcilla, tastes okay. The flavor is hard to explain.

Never tried it, but I know several people who have eaten spinal cord soup (sopa de medula).

I've already eaten cow tongue tacos. Doesn't taste out of this world, but lemons make the flavor a little better.

It's perfectly normal to make chicken broth soups with chicken feet.

Eating insects isn't too common in Mexico City, but a lot of people eat crickets, worms and cockroaches in the southwest of the country. There's even an interesting candy recipe where you roast a cricket and it's juices enhance the sweet flavor of that candy.

In Tabasco the Pejelagarto fish fillet is a typical regional dish. You're literally eating a living fossil!

Mexicans also eat chopped up pig hooves.

Pozole, a heavenly dish that is also quite fattening. It can be vegetarian, made out of chicken meat, or... Pig intestines. I personally reccomend trying Pig intestines pozole, there's just nothing like it, it's too delicious.

Speaking of intestines, Tacos de pancita are made out of cow intestines.

What can sound bizarre or flat out gross to foreigners can be the most perfectly normal food to the locals. I'e even known people who have even eaten dog tacos.

Cultural rules? Um.. it's perfectly normal to see small children drunk (it's socially acceptable for poor mothers to give their babies pulque which is a kind of light alcohol).

When someone asks you the most common question in the book: Chivas or América? They want to know which soccer team you like. If you don't like either team, go with Pumas, can't go wrong with Pumas.

As others have said, kissing someone in the cheek in a social reunion is perfectly normal and not L*****n. Men say hello to other men shaking hands and kiss ladies on the cheeks.

If a mexican calls you with a word describing your skin color, they aren't being racist. It's socially acceptable to call people by how they physically look; white, black, gringo, short, tall, etc...

  3. There is lots to write about it depends on what part of mexico .I recomend local foods there is a wide variety  lots to talk about not one dish is alike also the places to visit is a good choice there are lots of places like Angangeo de municipio de Ocampo this is where the monarch butterflies travel to from Canada it is a very turistic place ....

  4. My goodness  so  much to write about. Go to the web travel information for tourist you will find so many cities and there foods and places to go visit. I have gone to that website its a lot of fun it gives you a bit of history as well. Good Luck.

  5. Each region in Mexico has unique foods and preparations. Lots of good info on the internet, websites for states and cities. For a different view, look at food products produced or grown; fruit, vegetables, beef, pork and how they appear in local recipes.

Great cultural sites in Mexico City and environs. Whale watching in Baja California, water sports of all kinds in the Gulf of California. Surfing on the Pacific coast.

Cultural rules? Getting drunk and behaving badly is frowned upon. Ditto showing too much skin.

Mexico is a big country of friendly people with much to see and do. Bien viaje.

  6. I would put information about required travel documents.  Passports etc.

  7. I live in Mexico....so....

Local Foods: tacos, chiliquiles, grilled meats, pozole, tamales, rice, beans

Places to Visit: Morelia during the Day of the Dead, Morelia for the monarch butterflies in Jan. Feb., Guadalajara, Oaxaca, turtle reserves, pyramids

Cultural rules: always accept food at a person's house (it is rude to say no), always say gracias, perdon, salud (they are a very polite culture), one kiss on the right cheek is an appropriate greeting among friends

  8. Hmm lots to say here it really depends what part of Mexico cause they're so different. Local foods could be Menudo cow stomach w/ hominy soup, Carnitas fried pieces of meat, Chicharrones fried pork fats w/ meat very good with green salsa, taquitos de Cabeza corn tortilla with Cow head meat adorned with fresh cut cilantro and diced onion and fresh green jalapenos, Sopes fried small thick corn tortillas filled with shredded beef adorned with shredded lettuce and red slasa, Chile rellenos your basic chile pasilla or chile verde filled with menonite cheese battered dipped or beaten fluffy eggs and fried. there are may things to do in Mexico and of course depending where you are located at but if your in Mexico City you can go to Catedral Metropolitana one of the oldest and biggest churches on this side of the hemisphere. the city has more than 150 museums ranging from Art work to Mummies and archaelogical finds. Activities could be to visit Xochimilco which are floating gardens from the Aztec civilization and Coyoacan a colonial neighborhood.
