Hey im from canada and i just joined a club team but my coach doesn't make us do practices, its really up to the coach,i play a competitive game once a week also,im five foot nine and 110 pounds,i want to play striker,so far im the fastest girl on the team without the ball, and i have another question will i gain weight and will my legs get fat?,because im going to start modeling soon and that's another thing im worried about, but if anything,i rather sacrifice modeling to become a amazing soccer player one day. My goals are to attain all basic skills in 6 months to a year, and then try out for competitive teams, and then the Ontario youth soccer league,or a league underneath that and then work my way up to having a trail in England if that's even possible, like Liverpool FC center of excellence. Any suggestions, drills skills? and is it really all too late? i'm about to turn 17

  1. no

  2. Very good to have ambition; but you must have the skills to go with it.  It will take more than six months to obtain those skills.

You must listen to your coach and try and put into practice what the coach is trying to get across.  If you are not prepared to listen then head for the beach.

Forget about what you may look like in the future - only today counts and whatever you do in this day will take you into the future.

    Nobody can do it alone.

  3. hey soccer girl firstly no its not too late

ur body doesn't have to change for football look at pics of peter crouch and compare to maradonna footballers come in all shapes and sizes

however one thing is for sure its going to take a lot of hard work

studies have shown that it takes at least 10000 hours of practice to make any professional sportsman and as previously suggested this is only for the talented few (this is ten hours a day for nearly three years)

please don't be put off by these figures as some of these hours you have already done

if you are serious i would suggest a change of team to one which has a coach with a more professional attitude. you will learn quicker from a useful coach

for your training look at www.grassrootscoaching.com/ as a usefull resource but just spending time kicking a ball about with friends is some of the best advice. realism is the key play matches and train using match situations as much as possible

you are tall and quick a massive advantage in football especially womens football use these in your personal training

  4. No , I don't think so ....This is like school....You got study hard and you have to do the same in soccer....play hard confident , and you have to believe in yourself! You got enjoy and play soccer !

    I'm 14 years old and I started 6 months ago !

    Good Luck !

  5. You're a Girl don't embarrass yourself

  6. its probably too late to be abke to go pro, but you never know. you might just be naturally good at soccer. and your legs will not get fat from playing soccer lol. dont worry about that. this should not have any negative effects on your modeling career

  7. That's late to start; as you age, you learn slower too. You still have a chance to go pro if you have an incredible amount of natural talent (it's happened at your age before), but don't get your hopes up; very, very, VERY few people, regardless at what age they start, become pro (millions upon millions of people play soccer, but look at how few become pro). Not to discourage you; if you want to go pro by all means try, just don't be disappointed if you don't make it. Personally, I would just focus more on enjoying the game than going pro. If it turns out you're incredibly talented, then things will start happening anyway, no sweat.

  8. watch football to develop your footballing brain. Watch the legends like pele, maradona and modern greats like zidane ronaldo(brazilian) and ronaldo(Portuguese).

Bill Shankly the famous Liverpool manager said that when your 6-7 you need 5000 touches daily of a footballuntill your 15 to develop into a world-class footballer.

Your speed and height are a massive advantage and they should be your primary attributes to starting off. Hitting a football off of a wall with one foot then the other and then constantly alternating your feet because being both footed is something that can be a huge asset as a striker.

Its not too late but tremendous dedication and effort will be essential

  10. No your not to late to become pro.  Be focused if thats what you really want to do.  And you will see that it all payed off in the end.
