I've Been Videoed Without My Permission

Question

I had a baby in Sept and at the time I was 17 years old. My ex-boyfriend's Mother put a video camera in my labor room and taped the whole delivery without my permission. Is there anything at all that I can do legally about this? Please help! Thank you so much!

I think there is nothing to worry about but if your mother in law is mentally sick she might do anything with the video to bother you so

I agree with the other answer. There is certainly a possible case for child pornography, according to recent laws enacted in the United States. If someone wanted to get sticky about it, it doesn't really matter if you gave permission or not. You were a minor. You were unable to give permission legally.

Tell her to hand over the tape or you are calling the cops.

If the camera was hidden, then you definitely have a case.  If the camera was in plain sight and you did not voice your objection then your silence could be viewed as a form of permission.  You were, however, a minor and  it may be viewed as some sort of "child pornography" since it showed your vaginal area, but I am not sure if it would apply to a birth.  You may want to check with your local authorities and then threaten your ex-boyfriend's mom with a criminal complaint if she does not hand over the tape and if she keeps copies for herself.
