I've always wondered why Doubles Tennis isn't very popular?

why do you think that is?

It's fast, and can be a fun game to watch. But over all, doubles lack the intensity, thrill, and one can't really observe the details, techniques the players display. Just not exciting enough for spectators.

I guess the real attraction will always be the singles...

Doubles tends to be about tactics and speed rather than individual skill, and also I think people don't find it quite so relaxing to watch when you have what looks like ping pong going on at the net sometimes - it can be so quick you just blink and miss what is going on.

Another thing is that often the really talented tennis stars are concentrating on the singles and so it is the lesser knowns who are playing in the doubles.

Personally, I enjoy doubles!!!
