I've an overprotective attitude toward my little sister and she hates me!

Question

I'm 20 and she's 6.

I've an overprotective attitude toward her and she hates me for that. What can I do, I love her and I'm overprotective becoz I luv her too much.

its really good you protect her but loosen up a little bit you can be protective but not too overprotective.

Your sister is just young and doesn't understand why you are doing this you should talk to her and really try to get her to understand

its just normal, its alot of love! you want to protect her and look after her. id just back of a bit but still let her know you care, she will thank you one day for being there =)

im the youngest of 3 and i HATE IT !! so MUCH !!

maybe give her space and let her have her own life bocz wen something happens and U wont know then she wont trust u enough to tell u !! thats wat happened wen i got pregnant ....now its cool but 3months ago it was torture,my brother and sis called me a **** etc soo many bad words,and pushed me around which was not good for the baby

but TRUST me...care bout her but dont get freaky over protective

i know exactly how you feel. i am so protective over my little brother even though he is way taller and stronger than me and able to look out for himself! i cannot help it, i just love him so much and if anything ever happened to him or someone hurt him i would probably hunt down that person... my brother gets really annoyed with me for i but no matter how much i apologise i still carry on. it makes me sad when he gets annoyed with me for it but i hope one day he will realise it is because i love him so much that i do it. i am sure one day your sister will realise how good it is to have an older brother to care for and protect her. i wish i did.

My sister is 10 years older then me and was pretty much my primary care giver--She is still over protective and i am 20 and married with 2 kids lol. She actually followed me out with one of my friends becasue she wanted to know where i was in case something happened. I know that it is because she loves me and only wants what is best for me and somebody your sister will know that too- Keep doing what you are doing if it is what is best for her!

That's sweet that you care for her. It's natural to feel protective because she's family, you don't want to stop feeling it because it's a natural feeling. I feel the same way about my brother. =)

your not wrng for doing that at all you are showing her that you love her and want to look out for her she will aprechate it in the long run but at the moment she is 6 and wants to do her own thing
