  1. Eric,,the engine number on those engines is very, very obvious and easy to find.

If You've looked and haven't found it---even by sheer accident & stumbling upon it,,,,

There's a POSSIBILITY it is NOT THERE.

Replacement Crankcase castings do not have serial numbers stamped into them.

They appear as simply a Blank Pad on the engine.

    ......................................

The Clutch Lever on the Engine points almost Directly at it.

Squeeze clutch a few time while looking down at the Right Hand engine cover.

Youll see the Clutch Cable moving the Lever on the R/H Engine cover/Clutch cover.

In exactly that area,,,Just an Inch inward toward the engine ,,is the serial number pad.

It's a Raised Cast-In RectangleShaped Pad on the motor,,,and the Number is stamped on that

Here's parts drawing of the crankcase.

See the Item Number 1,,in the square ,,,[ 1 ]

Directly too the Left in the drawing,,,You can see the Rectangle Shaped Engine Number Pad on the Big Round Clutch Area of the casing

Heres a Picture from the Manual----I dunno if the Link will Work

use the password & username LIBRARY as log-in id

  2. Why do they need the engine #? The vin # is'nt good enough it's running down one of the front forks and i beleive it's also uhder the seat,I'm not totally sure .but look under the carbs, close to tthe tranny. i do know the engine # is on a flat spot down low on the engine .

  3. block right side by brake pedal intake hole below and there

  4. rear side upper crankcase,,

as you stand next to the bike on the right hand side

look at the rear of the cylinders down the bottom..

    its there..

if you still cant find it send me your email address & I will email you the manual...

I'd be willing to bet it shows you the location in the shop manual.
