I had my daughter on July 24th. I have literally bled every day since her birth. I have passed very large blood clots, but not the size of a lemon(which is when your supposed to go in) but large enough...I it's basically just brown blood that comes out, which always makes me think that it should be stopping soon, but than I pass another blood clot...I'm worried that this isn't normal, but it's take a long time to ever get a call back from my doctor's office and the hassle isn't worth it if there is no need. So I was wondering if other mother's have had the same experience and what you did. Sorry if this is a bit gross. Please only answer if you've had this experience, not just if you knew a friend of a friend who had the same thing:) thank you.

  1. char she had a baby so she didn't miscarry read the question again. i would definity go to the doctor something could be really wrong.

  2. Okay..just because you are passing large blood clots and bleeding for five weeks does not mean you have endemetriosis...that girl don't know what she is talking about. Is this your first baby? With my son I bled EVERYDAY for 6 1/2 weeks and my doctor said it was normal...endemetriosis runs in my family and I asked my doctor to check me for it after I had my son and you cannot be diagnosed with it until it has been 9 weeks since you gave birth...giving birth hides the signs of it. So I would not really worry...the bleeding will let up and if it is brown it is old blood and your body is just letting it all out...think about it!!!! you have been saving this up for 9 months LOL...reakky don't stress and if you keep bleeding REALLY heavy call your Dr. but as long as it's not just HORRIBLE your fine...oh yeah...and I dropped blood clots the whole 6 1/2 weeks I bled...now breathe...

  3. You have endometritus (sp*). I was in the hospital for over 9 hours because I had that right after I had my son. Fist sized blood clots. Don't take advice from anyone else, because this happened to me. Your endometrius is too thick. It was suppose to thin after having the baby. Go to the ER immediately. Seriously. They will lay you on the table and ckeck you out. Then they will give you a shot in the a** cheek to stop the bleeding (I got methergine) and then prescribe you lortab or some pain meds, and the same thing they gave you as a shot, only in pill form. You'll take this for a couple of weeks. But guaranteed, if you go in and get that shot, you will stop bleeding immediately. Let me know how this goes. What ever happened to only people that this has happened to answering??

Go to the ER. Endometritus is not genetic, so it running in her ramily is irrelivant. Apparently she didn't read up on it. You're not suppose to bleed that long after you have a baby. 2-3 weeks at max. If you're going to worry about this, read up on it. Google it. Don't yahooanswer it. If you were that worried, you wouldn't be sitting on the internet.

I wish you luck. This thing sucked for me. But I urge you, go to the ER as soon as you can, even if it means 1 in the morning.

  4. I am a CCMA

You should see your GYNO this is not normal to pass such large clots if you were sexually active you could have had a miscarriage.. I have had 3 children and the NEVER happened
