The doctor at the clinic told me it was due to the birth control I was taking (nuvaring) which not only cause my hormones to change dangerously but for me to put on weight inexplicably that my body couldn't handle. I am only nineteen years old, and everything I read about this condition has a grim prospect. He told me to lose weight and take care of myself and I shouldn't have any more problems (thirty pounds). I am already seeing bruising on my leg inexplicably. It hurts everynight, and I'm trying my best to keep on top of this to make myself better. Is there anyway this can be completely cured? I don't want to live the rest of my life in pain because I took some common medicine.

  1. have no idea what that is

  2. Slow down, you'll be fine after you STOP the prescription and give it time.  Phlebitis, weight gain and many other things are common.  But you can take a different brand or hormone, and have better results, yet BC pills are not a permanent solution, and are for short term only IMO.

Also, after the pill, you can be overly fertile, and end up with twins or triplets, until your body adjusts.

  3. Support stockings!  Really supportive ones like nurses wear.

And if it's from a lack of proper return bloodflow in the surface veins, consider getting the surgery now, if you have a serous case of it, instead of later when you have damaged your circulation.

  4. There is not really a cure. You can have surgery, thats one option but it's rare to do it. Mostly it will probably be treated with medication and compresses on your legs. Don't give up. It will get better, just takes some time.
