It's really hard to get the backs on over my heels, even when I point my foot, and they leave blisters on my heels. They are also very tight on my toes, and I can't flex my toes. Is this normal? I don't know how toe shoes should feel, and everybody has told me that they usually hurt at first.

  1. ur fine! you shouldn't be able to flex ur toes in ur pointe shoes. if ur toes are just touching the box, then ur fine! if they r scrunching together, then u have a problem! but i think ur fine! u just need to break in ur shoes! then they will fit ur feet better!

    good luck! hope i helped!

  2. yeah, they usually hurt at first untill you break them in.  But as you are descrbing them, that seems like they were not fitted right.  I would suggest to try them out for a few weeks, then if no imporvment try another dance store that specializes in pointe shoes.  I don't know if ur from Canada or not, but the best place is in Toronto, Which is "The Shoe Room"  it is combined with the National Ballet School of Canada.  If ur not from Canada, im pretty sure they do shipping.  You could also try using toe cozys, which are gel pads that go over your toes.  There is also toe tape, which u can apply over the hurting areas.  There is also lambs wool, whcih u can put in ur shoes for extra comfort.  Hope this helps out.  And keep up the dance!!! =)
