  1. I love perch [to eat.]

They're not dangerous just use gloves when you clean them that won't allow you to get cut or just be careful, my dad cuts his hand every now and then we he catches them.

  2. They aren't really dangerous they just have a sharp fin. Do be careful because they can cut you, but not badly. Throw em back though they are wussy fisn that don't even taste good.

  3. They have very spiny dorsal fins and also spines on their gill covers.

They aren't poisonous but can be painful.

The best way to hold one is to use a beer towel or you can brush the spines flat as you go to handle it, not forgetting to use your thumb to keep them flat.

  4. i wouldnt touch if it is sharp

  5. You can cut your hand on perch - their fins are really sharp- so just be careful how you handle them. Some people hold them firmly by flattening the dorsal fin - so it doesn;t stick in your hand. I prefer to hold them from underneath - as I don't want to damage their dorsal fin.

When you're catching perch - be aware that they can suck the bait and swallow it before they take the float down. This means you have to use a disgorger to get the hook out. Watch for the float moving sideways - and strike, Or sometimes the float will lift ( if you've put a small bottom shot on).

Get youself a good fishing book to learn more. All fish have different characteristics - and learning these help you catch more.

Glad you caught some today - hope you had good time.
