Question:

I've been getting really constipated, and I don't know how to get rid of it. what should I do?

I eat freaking apple sauce everyday and it DOESN'T WORK! Please help me before this problem gets serious.

  1. After giving birth to my baby girl, I was constipated for some time. The doctor recommended me to use Dulcolax.  It helps with the constipation. It just makes it soft and it doesn't mean you have to run to the bath room hundred times a day. You go normally and it just makes it soo much easier. I hope it helps you.

  2. Dont woory as othrs have said prune juice and water. Water helps a lot drink a lot of water after you have something and you felel bettwr turst me.

  3. Speak to a pharmacist.  If you have been suffering for quite a while then speak to a doctor, it could be IBS

  4. all fruits and veggies starting with the letter P. pears, prunes, plums, peaches, peas etc. But don't eat banana -- that can make constipation worse!!!

  5. Prune juice... trust me it helps.  

  6. I hate to admit this .... but try pintos n cheese from Taco Bell.

    Or if there is some type of food that has always upset your stomach in the past, try it.

  7. First, make sure you are eating a diet high in fiber.  If you can't get enough fiber in the food, get a fiber supplement.  Benefiber is good...it's tasteless and you can put it in a liquid or food.

    Second, be sure you are drinking enough water.

    I assume that since this is in the newborn & baby section that you are either pregnant or just had the baby, which means you're probably taking prenatal vitamins.  Those can cause constipation.

    Talk to your doctor about taking Miralax.  It's a NON-stimulant laxative so it won't cause gas or cramping, and it's very safe.  It has no taste, and dissolves completely in liquid.

  8. Eat and Drink some prune juice and prunes itself.

    Also Bananas also help with constipation.

  10. Try taking Ex-lax a mild laxative or alternatively eat foods that are high in fibre drink plenty of water and exercise.

  11. get that phillips stuff.. it comes in cherry, strawberry, chocalate,and just white... i would get the cherry it helps u alot!!

  12. Your doctor or pharmacist would be the best person to ask this question because they would be the ones who know your medical history.  

    Some common remedies used by our grandmothers and mothers and me would be:

    A tsp. of Karo syrup (this worked well for my babies if they were) or

    Eat a serving of prunes everyday or

    mineral or castor oil (can cause stomach cramps so not my choice)

    Metamucil or some type of fiber supplement

    Plenty of fruits and vegetables in your diet

    Oatmeal for breakfast

    Always keep hydrated.  Drinking plenty of water is the best solution of all.  Walking allot can help your intestines to move and keep you from binding up.

    Sorry you're having the problem.  Good luck with the solution.  If nothing you try is helping, definitely go to the doctor.  Constipation can be the sign of something more serious.
