I've been growing sunflowers in cotton wool and want to transfer the plants to compost.?

The roots have grown through the cotton wool. How do i get rid of the cotton wool without damaging the plants?

  1. Dont Worry about the cotton wool, just bury it in the compost


  2. remove as much as you can with nail scissors, then bed out with what cotton is left on the root

  3. use a spray bottle and wet the cotton wool, it should make it easier for you to pick the cotton wool of,and then pot up with growing compost.
