  1. What Barbara the Nurse and Xfile say.

(Myclonic jerks happen to me occasionally, too).

    .

  2. It's not a seizure. You are on the border of drifting in out out sleep. It happens to me quite a lot. It's almost like i am just drifing off then all of a sudden my whole body will jerk back awake. I've even had where i am just drifting and then i wake up but i am paralyzed and cannot move for a few seconds. Some sleep researchers suggest this is when a certain part of the brain wakes up before the part that deals with your motor functions.

Look into sleep disorders and i'm sure you will come across it. You may even find some people talking about OBE (Out of Body experiences) when you start talking about your body jerking or hearing noises etc. It's a strange topic, very interesting.

  3. If you are serious please rush and go see your doctor.  You don't fool around with seizures cz they can kill you if they last too long and even so, something's not right in your brain when you experience anykind of seizure.  Now go get checked.

  4. well it could be anything! but my friend started doing that about a year ago and she had all of her brain waves tested and all kinds of other test and everything came back fine, finally they found out she had high sugar and that's what was causing the seizures, and she didn't know anything was wrong with her sugar! you definitely need to go to the doctor! good luck!

  5. Go see a Dr. ASAP.

  6. whoa is that a seizure cuz i get those when i reallly have 2 go to the bathroom n finallly use it. I thought it waz nuthin big plz let me no if u find out anything

  7. not a seizure, its called a "Myoclonic jerk." every one experiences this sometimes, muscles stiffen then relax upon half-falling asleep.completely normal, not an illness.ps-myo is a medical prefix pertaining to muscles.look up "myoclonic or myclonic jerk" up online for more info.

  8. you should seriously consider seeing a doctor... that would be a far more advisable way of seeking medical advice.

    seizures can be VERY serious.

  9. Many things can cause it such as minor injuries, diseases, etc. I suggest to definitely go to a doctor, because they might be minor seizures but they can grow in severity, and cause damage. Also, check over your body an see if you have any insect bites, or stings because through research I have found that if you are stung, or bit by a poisonous insect it can cause minor seizures as well.

But honestly I would say your best bet is to definitely go to the doctor and get it checked out before it gets worse!

  10. Yeah, I have 'em too.  I have come awake during some of mine, shaking and not having any control or lately biting my tongue which was only associated with grand mals(also known as a tonic-clonic seizure) before.

STRESS  is the number one cause of this for me.  A big part of my seizure control is to try to keep the stress levels low.  With so little income now and a teenage kid  this has not been easy lately.  So I have lots of these.  Better these than a grand mal at work or in public.

Tell your doc, learn what triggers your seizures if you can.  Sometimes it takes friends and family to help you remember because these things have to build up for some people.  It can have multiple causes: fighting an allergy, stress, getting too excited, that flash of light and off you go.  Example for me: stress,  using my eyes too much (reading, on the computer, needlework, etc.), polution (which is also a migrane trigger), getting sick with viruses and such.  My doc just said "It'll happen."  So I watch my triggers.  It really compromises my lifestyle more with each passing year, but I am coping.

  11. You're probably way too sleepy. that happened to me twice in my lifetime.. sleep on your side or hug a pillow and it won't happen

well not a seizure but my whole body does stiffen and i get slight jerks. it doesn't happen to me anymore. last time it happened was...3 years ago i think
