I want a longer program like 6-8 weeks but all i find is 2-4 week programs, I've been looking like crazy but can't find one. Oh, it must be for high school students, so this excludes and university and college exchange programs.

  1. Most exchange organizations offer summer programs. However, I sure encourage you to go for at least a semester or better yet a year to get the full benefit of the culture and language immersion.

Make sure any program you choose is CSIET listed. You might also check with your school counselor for a recommendation. Reliable ones tend to be AFS, YFU, Aspect, Rotary.

You might check out the CSIET list and go though those programs and see what they have to offer. There are around 100 - all conveniently in one spot, and you can see if one fits your needs.

You can also check out this website which is full of information on the exchange experience from application to return home:

    Good luck!
