My boyfriend is 28, never skiied or snowboard in his life. He was a hockey player and skating for many years. I use ski blades and he wants do to the same. It's that the best bet for him?

  1. Blades are not good for beginners i have been skiing science i was 6 (23 now) and i still find blades a little tricky .

  2. Hi me again! :)

I wouldn't recomend blades for a beginner, but shorter skis depending on his height. My original skis were 170cm and I found them really hard to control, I'm 5ft 2in. Now my husband uses them, he's 6ft 3in, his own skis were 190cm. He's now broken both pairs going off piste!

Definately get him booked in for lessons in the morning for instance and then ski together after lunch.

    Have a great time.

  3. I dragged my husband with me for the first time this year.  He enjoyed it very much but I can't say I did!! I actually think snowboarding is easier but if he is a hockey player he may find balancing on skis easy. I suggest you convince him to get a ski instructor for the first day, knowing how to ski doesn't mean you can teach it plus, you won't get to ski yourself.
