I've been on desogen (a monocyclical 28 day birth control pill) for a long time. I take 3 months at a time, as recommended by my doctor, and only have a period 4 times a year. It worked great for a long time, but then I stopped taking it for awhile, about 5 or 6 months... Anyway, I got back on it and after my first pack, when I went to go skip my period and I started spotting. This wouldn't be an issue, except I'm halfway into my 3rd pack and I haven't stopped! It's not even like spotting, more like a light flow period for a month and a half. Why? How do I make it stop?

  1. Your body is adjusting to being back on the pill again by breakthrough bleeding.

Your bleeding is going on too long.

I would call and ask your doctor for advice.

  2. When i was 15 and switched b/c pills I spotted for a month!! Just talk to your dr.... They switched my b/c and things went back to normal!
