  1. Turn your body a little more into the wave. Your shoulders are to squar with the direction you are going.  If you turned your shoulders in and kept your head strait you won't feel the urge to keep one knee down. By doing this kneeling will no longer feel natural.

  2. there is not sence asking this Question on yahoo just go to a surf instructor or a buddy and ask him/her. we need to see you to beable to help you!

    good luck!

  3. Commit to the popup. As soon as the surfboard starts to be propelled by the wave jump to your feet, it will feel unstable, but if you do the popup quickly and without hesitation, you will be successful. Don't even let your knees touch the board do a powerful pushup and bring your front foot underneath your body. Your back foot should slide slighly across the back of the board on the way to your feet. Hesitation is your enemy.

  4. Well, i went to Cornwall and did a bit of surfing down there with some instructors, they were great, maybe your just not 'popping up' quick enough and you just sort of stay low. on the first couple of goes i couldn't do it either, but then i could. just keep yourself balanced whilst paddling when the wave comes, then jump up with some help of your arms if you need to and then do the usual surf position.

it might help you, but i can't 100% guarantee it!

  5. pop up
