I've been taking acoustic guitar lessons for 2-3 weeks and I'm still having trouble hitting certain chords rig

still having trouble hitting certain chords right, am I not practicing enough? or does it take more time?

Just takes time. Depending on your natural ability it could take months. Just be patient and stick with it. You will be jamming in no time!

You might not be practicing enough, or you could be practicing more than enough (I don't know how long you practice for).

Also, I think that different people learn at different rates (motivation plays a big part too). You might be a slower learner or you might be discouraged. Either way, you should continue to practice. If you're discouraged, think about the motivation that got you learning guitar in the first place.

Oh, and don't push yourself. Remember to relax, take breaks, and have fun. If you aren't having fun, I think that it will take longer and be more painful.

Yeah, i agree with everyone here..

Practice then practice some more!

I got my guitar 2 years ago, played it for a while..thought 'I'll never be able to play this' then gave up.

Fast-forward to this year, I started again in May and now I'm hitting those chords I though I could never do. I'm no pro but I'm a lot better then I was!

My advice to you would be

1 - Don't put your guitar back in it's case, keep it beside you bed!

2 - Start easy even if you don't really like the song

3 - Play through the pain! (I have callisses on my fingers now and don't feel a thing :P

4 - Listen to everything I just said..
