I've been thinking...?

Question

About how maybe sexuality isn't as rigid as people think it to be. I was wondering, all our other interests in life change as we age and mature, and gain new insights on our lives and others'. Why not people's interests in what they look for in a mate?

At first I thought I was g*y but, I don't know, I think people classify themselves as 'g*y' or 'straight' or 'bi' because that's just what society does- we label things to make it seem more black and white. We get ourselves in a mindset after a while to follow society's expectations, even if you don't realize it. Then you go your whole life thinking one way, even though your own personal tastes may swing one way to another.

Just my own personal thoughts. I'm only 16 so I don't have a lot of life experience to back this up, so any and all comments are welcome! Which I guess is mainly what I'm looking for- your thoughts on this. I didn't really ask a question :P

I consider myself to be g*y because I know that I do not ever want to have s*x with a women again. I have been with women but it has been a very long time.

Well, I agree that our interests in a mate may change over time. In my opinion, the best psychological theory about sexuality is that it is not black, white, or gray. But, rather, a continuum where one end is homosexuality and the other end is heterosexuality. In the area in between is a gradient of bisexuality. However, that is not to say that we go to sleep as a homosexual and wake up as a heterosexual. But rather, with more and more self discovery as life progresses, we may be more willing to engage in sexual behavior with one or both sexes.

u r totally right. u r pretty wise and mature for ur age.

u shouldn't label urself. there's more to u than ur sexual orientation. u have ur own ideals, personality, goals, ambitions, dreams... all those things make you who u r, the things u like, the things u don't...

who u like to have s*x with or who u don't... is just part of ur tastes -what u like/dislike, but doesn't define you as a person....
