I've been to the Doctors.....what do u think?

Ok, I went to the Dr's on Tuesday as I just wanted to talk to her about TTC and also every couple of months I was getting brown discharge.

Anyway, I got some blood taken....she checked for my hormone levels, PCOS and Thyroid function.

I just got a phone call from the Dr's receptionist this morning, letting me know that the Dr would like to see me to talk about my results (appointment is tomorrow at 2pm) and of course, I will not relax until I find out.

So I was wondering if anyone has had problems with any of the things I got tested for and if so, how did you overcome it to go on and have a baby!

I had my preconception blood work done in December 07.......could anything have drastically changed since then?

Thank you in advance

  1. receptionists dont tend to reveal what the doctor has to say over the phone it could just be the practices policy ... i wouldnt worry if you are healthy disease free an nothing was wrong with your previous blood test i wouldnt worry too much im sure that if it was something serious they would have told you right there or would have refered you to a specialist , you might be pregnant !!??? an she wanted to tell you herself you could possibly think of that because you never know what she may want but i am not telling you to get your hopes up just yet i have pcos an i to have gotten brown discharge in mid cycle ... i also have cervical dysplacia .. iwas mildly horrified when i was diagnosed with that an they told me right over the phone but every doctors office is different if you are verrry concerned call the doctors office before your appointment like around 12 or earlier an ask them what is wrong so you can put your mind at ease it sounds like a sticky situation good luck god bless an much baby dust to you keep us updated tell us whats wrong if you want to tomarrow again good luck

  2. Of course things could have changed by then. My friend was thinking that she had thyroid problems earlier in the year and the blood test came out fine. 7 months later it came back positive. That is okay, she will put you on some medication for fertilization or even to help with the thyroid. Good luck

  3. I have both PCOS and Hypothyroidism and low Progesterone levels. I am on my first month of fertility treatments (Clomid + Metformin) so I can't tell you if it has worked yet. I have an ultrasound tomorrow to see if I have any good follicles. Don't stress though-even if you have 1 or all of these there is still hope. Cross you fingers for me and I'll cross mine for you. Good Luck. **Babydust**

  4. I don't know much about the other things that were checked, but I do know that if your thyroid is high or low it CAN affect your fertility. I got mine checked and it is slightly low (by .02) and my doc said that it most LIKELY was not the cause of my infertility but it COULD be. All of my other levels were fine but I have been TTC for 2 years and having no luck... I have not gotten on meds for the thyroid, but it runs in my family and nobody else has had a problem conceiving (except for my severely overweight 18 year old cousin). Like I said, it is possible for the thyroid to be a problem, but I have been told that it is more unlikely than likely... Wish I could help more but I am TTC myself...
