I booked my trip online for a pretty good deal. I really liked it and thought that the pictures looked very nice. However, I've been reading some reviews from recent visitors to the hotel, and they all seemed to dislike it. Is this really that bad of a hotel? Help! And thanks for all answers!

  1. I actually purchased a time share there two years ago - there are three resorts right next to each other: Villa Del Palmar, Villa Estencia and Villa Del Arco.  They are all very nice and when staying at one there is a little shuttle to all three that you can go to and use their ammenities.  Villa Del Palmar is right next to the little store, computer access and all the main hotel shops.  The hotel is beautiful, the only thing I can say is that the beds are very hard.  Besides that we love and my entire family will be going there in September of this year.

    A couple tips:

    1.  It is $7 taxi to get from the hotel to town and $7 to return.  You can walk but it is a distance and you will get mobbed by timeshare salesman. (All of Cabo has tons of time share people trying to get you roped in, Like I Did!)

    2.  If you are gonna be there more than a couple of days there is a Costco, City Club and I think the Walmart should be open now...go there and stock your room with food, liquor and plastic cups (No glass down by the pool).  The prices get expensive at the hotel.

    3.  If you have a few hours to spare and want to check out a time share you can end up getting up to $100 per person, round trip taxi or shuttle to/from airport and several other activities paid for if you barter with them.  (If your there for more than a few days, plan on taking about half a day but it's not to bad for all the freebies you can get.)

Have a great vacation! Don't worry, it's beautiful!!

  2. Hola.  Oh god no, don't have second thoughts, its a really nice place.  In this industry, you have to remember that you can't please all the people all the time.  Lots of Americans come down here expecting a certain standard, and when they don't get it, they get whiny about it. They seem to forget that they have crossed a border and are now in a completely different country!  lol.   The Villas (there are 3) are all very repuatable and in a really great location.  I would just come down and enjoy yourself.

  3. How weird. My husband and I went there on our honeymoon in October. We loved it. It is right on the beach, there are 3 or 4 pools (sorry can't remember exactly) many restaurants, all inclusive if you choose. (which I reccommend). There are a lot of people of all different age ranges. The ONLY thing was that they were doing construction on the property next to our room. They told us that we could change rooms but it was only during the day and we were never in the room then anyway so we didn't care. But keep in mind you can switch rooms if you are not happy and one is available.

I'm jealous, I can't wait to go back!

    Have fun!

Also, if you go to Youtube and put in the name of the hotel there are some video's so you can see what it actually looks like. I don't think the pictures on the site do it justice.
