I've broken my laptop screen so it's cracked underneath?

can i do something to stop the weird coloured bit from spreading across the whole screen so i cant use it?

  1. it seems the damage has been done and preventing the liquid moving will do nothing beneficial. You will need a new screen which is costly, if not a new laptop


  2. Yeah, once you break an LCD screen the only thing you can do is either get a new one or replace the screen itself. LCD screens are expensive depending where you go. You could probably find one on ebay. Replacing the screen is an extremely difficult task if you were to go ahead with it. Try calling your local computer repair but as I said it won't be cheap. Probably around a few hundred bucks. Be prepared.  

  3. It doesn't ususally 'spread' across the whole screen,but you definately lose some view.

    If you want a cheap way out, pick up an old monitor (or buy a new one), and plug that in. Will work everytime.

    If you want to replace it, then you have to consider what the laptop is worth, as it is not a cheap item to source and fit.

    Don't expect it done for less than 150 pounds if it is a big screen.
