Question:

I've cleaned out my fridge and freezer several times and continue to find gnats in both. What is the problem?

When I first moved into my apt., I noticed gnats in/on my ice. I didn't pay any attention to this until I started to see a bunch of dead gnats in my freezer and my fridge. I've cleaned out both several times and don't keep old food in there, so I'm not sure what the problem is. I'm beginning to think it has nothing to do with anything in the fridge, as I've never had this problem before in other places I've lived, and I maintain the same groceries as always. Could it be something having to do with my fridge/freezer? This is so gross to come home to and makes me not want to eat the food. Help!

  1. it must be the fridge there must be a nest in there somewhere.i would contact the landlord and have him replace the fridge or get an exterminator over there to spray behind it or something .i don't think that would work though you would need to spray inside the fridge and the stuff is poison you need a new fridge.

  2. Try this website - it mentions about gnats building nests in the 'drip trays' at the bottom of fridge/freezers etc - very useful!!
