  1. Get links to your site, submit to google, yahoo, msn, and have lots of great content (text).  You can also get a free link to your site with no spam at http://directorix.net and you'll also find great articles for DIY SEO.

  2. Good code on your site to help the spiders do their work and index you and then lots of good traffic! Reciprocal links work well as long at they are relevant.

  3. Pay google thousands of pounds, that's how everyone else does it!

  4. For answers to your question have a look at our tutorial website covering website design and promotion. Also an experiment on how to get a random search term indexed by Google. http://www.ds32.com

  5. Unfortunately getting listed on the search engines can be quite a slow process, taking a few weeks to get on to some of the major search engines. You will need to submit your website address (URL) to the search engines using pages like these:

    http://www.google.co.uk/addurl.html

    http://search.msn.co.uk/docs/submit.aspx

    http://uk.search.yahoo.com/freesubmit/su...

Once you are on a few search engines others may also slowly start to find you. Search engines calculate the relevance of a site, and thus how high it will appear in their search results, using a number of factors. One of these is the number of relevant sites that link to yours so try and set up as many link exchanges with other relevant sites as you can or find any relevant sites, such as directories, that accept link submissions.

I hope this is of help.

  6. The best thing to do is to try and get as many links as you can to other sites, this is one of the things that search engines look for.
