  1. you can buy veggie burgers at the grocery store, i love them. also, make sure that you're eating enough protein. beans and soy are high in protein. im not very sure of any good tofu recipies, but they have it in chinese restaurants and i like it there.

  2. Some of my favorites are walnut meatless balls, mushroom cutlets, fried eggplant, and black bean burgers. There are a ton of delicious and nutritious recipes on the web, try http://allrecipes.com/Recipes/Everyday-C... for some good ones.

Be sure to keep some frozen meatless products around, that way you can still eat meat meals with your family and just substitute the main course. I'm a big fan of the Morning Star products, like chickenless nuggets and meatless breakfast sausages.

Also, I'd recommend making nuts or trail mix a regular snack in order to boost your protein.

    Good luck!

  3. Yay for becoming a vegetarian :]

If you go to trader joes they have the best sections for vegetarians! Or any health food store. Google vegetarian recipies, you'll find bunches.

  4. For tofu, I would recommend the Tofu Italiano recipe on www.goeggless.com.  They are on the left hand side under, "you can make it eggless".  I am not sure if I can post it here due to copyright issues.

  5. eat a tree

holy mother of h**l, didn't mean to offend you. actually i did, but so what. (here comes some more thumbs down.)

  6. I've been a vegetarian for the last 3 years and I hate tofu and mushrooms so I just eat a lot of eggs and mock chicken patties.  I don't like a lot of the meat substitute recipes and stick to eating mostly dishes that don't have meat in them.

  9. There are a million and one things that you can do with tofu.  Tofu is like flour.  You can do anything with it and  it can be a base for anything.

What you have to remember is that tofu really has no taste so it picks up anything that you put with it.  Depending on the consistency of the tofu, you can use it from desserts, ice creams, burgers, soups, grilling, etc.  You just have to be a little creative at first with spices and herbs.

Here are some links to recipes for Tofu:

Congrats on becoming a veggie and don't listen to what anyone else says, I haven't had meat touch my lips of 19 years and I'm as healthy as can be!

  10. Make sure you take some vitamins, you can be missing out on a lot of stuff, ie. protein.

  11. im a vegetarian.

now you can substitute just about anything for meat.

DEF try tofu. youll find tons of tofu burgers and other snacks

in the freezer section. my person fave are the mushroom burgers from morning star.  boca burgers are really good too. also, try organic stuff. its a little pricey but its wonderful for your body and tastes good too.

    also take centrum multivitamins daily.

  12. Wow I'm sorry you got such harsh answers.  Anyway, they are wrong.  I am a vegetarian,  and I am very healthy.  I run 5 days a week, am active, and definitely am not pale.  So, if your parents are supportive, there are great vegetarian meal starters by Boca (i.e. chicken strips, meat crumbles).  If you are just wanting things to heat for yourself, there are tons of burgers (my favorite is the Boca Black Bean Southwestern burger), corn dogs, hot dogs, etc...  As long as you eat some of these things for protein along with everything else to balance your diet, you will be very healthy.  The only time being a vegetarian makes you unhealthy is when people think they can cut meat out without replacing it, and end up living of mac and cheese.  :)
