Hello.

This was my 1st year of homeschooling. (7th grader) and last night I talked to my mom about going to public school again. She was okay with it. So in a few days, she is going to go to the school and talk with the princable. Will she just have to sign me up or will I have to take a test?

  3. Hello:

I have been involved with homeschooling for the past 22 years, both as a homeschool parent / teacher, and an assistant admin with a homeschool supervisory umbrella in the state of Maryland.  In the county we worked out of there was no exceptions everyone returning to public school had to be tested.

Having said this you need to know that the laws governing homeschooling vary so widely from state to state that no one answer will fit even from county to county in a given state.

I would recommend a visit to the Home-school Legal Defense website  www.hslda.org.

    Good Luck!

  4. probably both..she'll have to sign you up and them you'll have to take some kind of placement test

  5. I was homeschooled for 7th-10th grade. I went back my junior year in high school. They looked at a list of all the subjects I studied and asked for some examples of work I had done for each, along with a grade. My mother and I didn't keep actual grades, we just did stuff until I understood it, so we made up what we thought they would be. They stuck me back in with my grade. I did fine, I had to repeat algebra 1 though. If you were only out for a year I seriously doubt you'll have to repeat anything  or take a test. Every school district is different though. Good luck!
