i hope it will work. i want to be a good girl from now on.

some elderly ladies once told me knitting is more complicated than crochet~~is it true?

I figure if it is more difficult, it may force me to focus and keep me out of trouble.

  1. From my experience...my Mom, who used to be an avid "crochet-er" (until she had made enough "throws" to cover most of the state of NC..)..once tried to teach me to crochet...now, I have the manual dexterity of a three-toed sloth...it ended with me running, screaming from the room, making a bee-line for the rec room- and our fully stocked bar..and there I sat...until the alcohol brought me around to sanity once more...

Personally, I cannot be forced to focus...nor have I ever been intoxicated enough to do scrap booking, sewing or "bedazzle" any of my clothes...

I must be left to run free...or run amok as the case would have it...

    lol

  2. Well it might make you nice but he bad girl will still be inside of you trying to come out. Hope to be around when that happens, Want to chat IM me anytime

  3. All the knitting and crochet in the world will not make you a nice person.  You have to want to be a nice person to make yourself one.  That said, changing your avatar might be a better first step.

However, knitting or crochet will give you something other than being naughty to concentrate on and help you focus your attention on something new.  Neither is more complicated than the other, both have a learning curve that can be frustrating, you just have to work through it to improve.

  4. It will definately keep you from getting bored.  There are many more stitches in knitting than in crocheting, I guess in that way it is more difficult, but its not really hard. Here are a few sites you might like.

    www.knitty.com

    www.knitpicks.com

    www.freepatterns.com

the last one has links to other sites for patterns, ideas, stitch instruction. Plus you can blog about knitting or ask questions at the sites. Good luck with the focusing and staying out of trouble! knitty.com is my personal fav.

  5. I used knitting to quit smoking. Knitting does wonders to calm you down. I had never even seen someone knit before, and i taught myself out of a book. Its easy enough. Try starting with something basic like a scarf. Scarves are so easy to do.

  6. Once a bad girl, always a bad girl  :p

  7. You're going to be bored out of your mind........if you take this up.

  8. I don't think its harder,I can do both, the biggest thing,if you take it up,just so it ain't so you don't have to take care of something important, but if it keeps you out of trouble, then good for you,of course depends on what kind of trouble its keeping you out of..
