I've forgotten how to do something on FanFiction.net. Anyone help me?

Question

I've forgotten what to do if I want to choose 2 Characters when searching something (Like Naruto) on Fanfiction.net. Like, I click search but it won't let me choose 2 characters.. if you know what I mean..?

GAH! I'm no good at explaining what I want help with.. Baha.

Like, When you're uploading a story you get to choose which characters are the main characters, get me?

Grrr. Anyone get what I'm asking?

You are looking for your own story that you wrote and you put two characters that are in it? Into the search, just put the character you put first. Also, try to match the other things you put, such as what it is rated and how long it is. If you are just looking for a way to find your stories, click login and then go to the stories tab. Then click on the story you are looking for and click Live Preview.

There's two ways

First way, is when you actually go to search and you put in your keyword and press go. On the side panel there will be many different options to filter your results, including character, you click one character and then it will show the second character option.

Second way is when you actually go into the archives and look at all the new stories, at the top right hand corner it will show different ways to filter the results including 1st character and 2nd character.

the search engine doesnt allow you to pick characters, so you should just type their names into the keyword. if it's a pairing, i recommend that you type their names with and x in between, or with whatever nickname is popular for that pairing. otherwise, if you are not looking for crossovers and are only looking in one fandom, like naruto for example, don't use the search engine. instead, click on the whole fandom and once you are on the front page, you can reset what ratings, story word lengths, genres and pairings you want at the top right of the page. some fandoms are too small to have the characters option, but naruto definitely has it, as do all the major fandoms. hope that helps...

there should be a drop menu that says 'characters' and you click on the list. (if that's what you mean.)
