Go to Green Island! It's a great day trip and you can see the Great Barrier Reef- seriously one of the most beautiful things on this Earth.

Get a day trip to the Barrier Reef.  Otherwise enjoy the pubs.  There's not much really in Cairns itself but if the timing is right there's loads of nice day trips you can do on the water, or on land.
