  1. Just use tooth paste not the gel kind but the paste (Crest I think works best). and a tooth brush. Then wipe it off with a damp cloth. I use it on coins my silver wear silver platers I bought at the fleamarket.

  2. baking soda should have just enough abrasive to polish them, and is eco friendly

  3. Make a paste of baking soda and water and rub with a soft, lint free cloth--NOT paper towels.  then use a fresh cloth, wet it down and ring it out well and wipe down.  Finally, polish with another dry cloth.  It is important to use a lint free, soft cloth as others may scratch.

  4. IF it is just metal with no other material..........take a plastic bucket or ceramic pot, fill with super hot water.......boiling.  Add a goodly amount of baking soda......1/2 cup or so depending on water amount and add a ball of crumpled aluminium foil...baseball size.  Add the picture frames so they are covered with water and let sit.  Hopefully this will remove the tarnish.  Same thing as those magic tarnish removing sheets sold in home magazines.

Personally I do use silver polish, not TarniX, but the cream forms.  For me speed and results are just as important as being Eco friendly as Eco can also mean Economy of time and materials.

  5. heard this one from a friend... boil some baking soda and lime juice (pleanty of lime juice) once its boiled grab a tooth brush and brush ur frames. them wipe them clean with a clean cloth

  6. baking soda with a little water to make a paste or lemon juice

  7. Look up aluminum and baking soda as a silver cleaner.

My mother-in-law got some piece of aluminum, we submerged it in hot water, added baking soda, then dipped the pieces.  It worked INSTANTLY!

I'm not sure if there was something special about the aluminum sheet, the amount of baking soda, order of the steps, or water tamperature.

Look it up on line.  It was amazing!  We cleaned her silver tea set in about 5 minutes!
