well technically yellow and purple are complimentary, but i don't think that would look very good. if its a kids room something bright, maybe green? if its an adult I'm thinking maybe blue? any shade really. but it depends on what you like. my room (im 14) is like 3 different shades of pink, and I'm going to paint some of it green soon, cause i like all those bright colors, but everyones diffrent.
