You need to provide some more details such as what model that you have.  Without that information, here is my best guess.  There are two different types of digital TV tuners.  One is an ATSC tuner, that is used to decode over that air DTV signals.  The other is a QAM tuner, that is used to decode uncncrypted cable DTV signals.  If you use an ATSC tuner with cable, you get no channels.  If you use a QAM tuner with "rabbit ears", you get no channels.  An ATSC tuner with "rabbit ears" won't get channels if you are out of range of the broadcast station.  A QAM tuner connected to cable won't get channels if your cable carrier does not broadcast unencrypted DVT channels.  Hope this helps...
