You can copy the footage to your PC and then burn a DVD from it with DVD Flick.  To make a DVD the camera's MPEG-4 video has to be converted to the MPEG-2 needed by DVDs, and that's going to reduce the quality.  You can now get cheap DVD players that support MPEG-4, so that may be a better option.
