i'm 17. i work because i feel like it, not because i need the money. the only thing a HAVE to pay for is my car insurance bill, gas money and money to go places and hang out (<not even all of that)... i've worked at 3 other jobs and this is how it went

i'm new and working hard,

i learn and have fun,

i have learned everything i need to learn/could learn,

i get bored with the same day stuff,

i end up quitting and finding a better job with better pay...

cycle begins again...

right now i don't see a problem with having different jobs.... soon i'll be out of HS and an adult and going from job to job every half year or so won't look good on my resume.... but i really want to quit and go back to my last job... that company is supposed to help with college some... and i get a really good discount

  1. The reason you get bored with those jobs is, because they are not challenging enough for you. You must be a very smart individual. Try to find a job where you deal with public on every day basis, that way you will have the contact and learn every day. We all learn from other people.

If your previous job will pay for college, that is great. however, you already know the job and will be bored again.

  2. I don't see any problem with a high school student having multiple jobs. I just don't see why your former employer would re-hire you. Besides, if you are interested in tuition reimbursement, find a company that definitely offers it. Check out the websites.

BTW, tuition reimbursements paid for my college AND law school. It's one of the best benefits that exist.

  3. Your best bet is to get some type of degree after high school. (either a 4 year college or technical degree). With only a high school diploma, you are looking at a life time of working hard in mundane jobs that don't pay that well.

If you are not much into school - you can get a 2 year technical degree and get a skill that can challenge you and you will make enough to be able to support your family. (mechanics, plumbers, electricians etc all work hard, but make a pretty decent living. )

So, what ever you do for a job-- look long term. Look for one that will give you the time you need to pursue an education and acquire the degree or the skill that you can use to support yourself and a family one day.

    Good Luck.

  4. Do what you got to do Son.
