Question:

I've gotta to get an idea, miscarriage or...?

This is the scenario: A girl who has been told she was close to a miscarriage, who is 10 weeks pregnant has bad pelvic pain and cramping for 2 weeks straight. One day she spots, (wiped herself and saw blood) red blood. Cramps persist.

Then she starts bleeding for the next 4 days it goes up and down in intensity. At times light and at times heavy. Cramping persists. Pregnancy symptoms start decreasing. The 5th day she starts bleeding heavier and the cramps are much worse, she passes chunks of blood, or blood clots. On the 6th day there is light bleeding with cramping as it has been. On the night of this 6th day, the bleeding stops while the cramps persist. On the 7th day there is slight cramping and no bleeding.

So why did she stop bleeding? does this mean the miscarriage has happened and is now completed, or rather does it mean it is not going to happen? In other words, is she somehow all of a sudden out of the clear and the miscarriage just stopped and the baby is ok or simply did the miscarriage finish and run its course? Or is there more bleeding to come?

Im only confused because she is 10 weeks and I would think she would bleed for more than at least 6 days. Then again she is a very small girl at 5'0 100 pounds. How do you know if the blood clots are part of the baby? at 10 weeks how big would the clots be? she said they weren't too big. also i just find it weird that she would just.... not bleed anymore all of a sudden and decrease cramping drastically. I guess i just wanna hear what some experienced women and helpful people have to say. I apologize ahead of time for posting so much. Thank you and god bless.

  1. Ok on your last post I gave you my story and told you that it sounds like she did indeed miscarry. Now since you posted yet again i'm going to give you facts from some web sources so that you can hear professionally. :) Hope this helps. :)

"Most miscarriage symptoms are not definitive indicators of pregnancy loss, but possible signs include vaginal bleeding in pregnancy, cramping, and loss of pregnancy symptoms. Signs and symptoms of an early miscarriage (or chemical pregnancy) would generally be spotting or vaginal bleeding similar to a menstrual period, and possibly some abdominal cramping. The bleeding might have more clots than a menstrual period; the clots would look like tiny lumps in the vaginal discharge. " source 1.

THIS IS ABOUT THE LENGTH OF THE MISCARRIAGE:

    "What happens in miscarriage?

Some miscarriages occur all at once, with heavy bleeding and cramping, passing tissue from the v****a, and then resolution of the symptoms over 6-12 hours. In these cases, women should see their practitioners within a day or two for an examination, to be sure nothing else needs to be done medically. It is helpful to collect any tissue (red, gray or white solid material) that is passed and keep it in a clean jar in the refrigerator to show the doctor. If a woman's blood type is Rh negative, she may need to get RhoGam™." FROM SOURCE 2

THIS 3RD SOURCE HAS MANY ?'S AND ANSWERS I'D VISIT ALL THREE OF THE LINKS PROVIDED BELOW AND YOU'LL GET ALL THE ANSWER YOU NEED.

"How long will this bleeding last and when will my periods return?

    • The loss will probably continue for about 7-10 days, tailing off toward the end of this time. It shouldn't be heavier than a period, and shouldn't have an offensive discharge.

    • If you're worried, see your GP or practice nurse for some advice.

    • Normally your next period will come by 6 weeks or so. If they were irregular before, then it may be longer. Also, your fertility returns before your next period, so if you feel pregnant again a pregnancy test might be useful. "

I hope this information helped. Good luck and God bless.

  2. Please have your friend go to the ER.  We can't tell you what's going on. Good luck.

  3. This sounds as if she miscarried. If the bleeding has stopped then the miscarriage may be over. It is not normal or healthy to bleed for 7 days while pregnant. Seeing as how she passed blood clots and tissue, this was most likely the fetus.

See a doctor to be sure the miscarriage is over. If she miscarried she will need to see a gynecologist to make sure she is well.

  4. It could have been a miscarriage.  Go see a doctor and you'll know for sure.

  5. Okay I have had a miscarriage and its just very very painful and you bleed foe like a whole month until all the stuff that was there from the baby goes away  and is a long process if she went to the doctor they would of told her her blood count and if it went down drastically your having a miscarriage if not the baby or should I say fetus is safe just tell her to go to the doctor various times. To make sure everything is good.

  6. visit the doc to find out if its finished

  7. Dude, this is like, the 9th time you've asked this.

You just asked this within the past hour.

You're gotten TONS of answers from medical professionals, and lots of women who have been there. I don't know what more you want.

Any time you pass clots during pregnacy, you're supposed to go straight to the ER.

Only THEY can tell you what is going on with her body.

If you're unwilling to do that fine, just stop spamming up the boards tonight.

It's one thing to ask twice, if you got one or 2 responses the first time.

    But this is unnecessary

If you're concerned about your girlfriend, GET YOUR GIRLFRIEND TO A HOSPITAL.

  8. This girl and you should know that any time you're bleeding and you're pregnant you need to go straight to the ER! Seriously! You're wasting time by posting the same questions over and over. Get this girl to a hospital! ASAP!

  9. I know you are stressed about the situation and I am very sorry for your loss. But unfortunately it sounds like you miscarried and it sounds like it is finished. You need to go to the Dr. and they could tell you for sure but it sounds like you already know the answer!

  10. that is about right. the clotting is the baby passing and the cramping is the baby being pushed out. after the baby is out the cramps will stop and the bleeding because it is over with.
