I've had 2 negative pregnancy tests but still no period.?

Question

My period is usually around 24 days or so. Well now I'm on day 28 (Which I think would be perfectly normal), yet I still have no period. I took a pregnancy test yesterday and the day before and both were negative. We had s*x atleast every 3 or 4 days trying to conceive and now that my period is late we're really excited. However the negatives are very disheartening. I don't know when I ovulated, but if it was later in the cycle is it possible to still be pregnant and just not have enough HCG? Or does having 2 negatives this late mean that I'm definitely not and I'm just going to get my period in a few days....

My cycles are also 24-26 days. We are TTC too...my period was 6 days late. I got negative HPTs as well, and my period started yesterday. It's probably just stress. If your period doesn't start in a week, take another HPT, if its still negative, go get a blood test done. Best of luck!

You said something about having ovulated late, if you did, yes you could still be pregnant and not have enough HCG in your urine, but it could also mean that AF is on it's way and just hasn't gotten there yet.  AF usually arrives 14 days after you ovulate, the later you ovulate, the later you will have AF.  So good luck.  I hope you are!  I just found out that I am, but if you aren't I'm blowing lots of baby dust your way!

well, you're only about 4 days late, so you should just give it some more time.  some people dont test for at LEAST a week late.  and stress can always make you late (especially if you're really trying hard to conceive and it hasnt taken yet).

so just relax, take a nice long bath and give it a few more days.  if you still dont get your period, then just go to the dr and get a test done there to know for sure

that happened to my best friend. she just waited a couple more days and when she still didn't get it she took another test and it was positive. good luck!!

SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD SIGN TO ME, YOU PROBABLY JUST DONT HAVE ENOUGH HCG RIGHT NOW, I WOULD WAIT A FEW MORE DAYS AND TRY AGAIN, IF STILL A NEGATIVE AND NO PERIOD I WOULD GO TO THE DOCTOR AND ASK FOR A BLOOD TEST WHICH CAN BETTER DETECT HCG THEN A URINE TEST. ALSO FALSE NEGATIVES ARE WAY MORE COMMON THEN FALSE POSITIVES BECAUSE THE TEST IS JUST NOT PICKING UP THE HCG, BUT SOUNDS GOOD, HOPE EVERYTHING GOES WELL AND GOOD LUCK AND BEST WISHES!

Hi there,

As you are only a few days late then I probably would wait until about 7 days and then take another test . . If this is neg then perhaps you should visit you GP for a test..

I am one of those unlucky one that wee tests don't work for so I usually wait 7 days then go and get a blood test.

Usually a prego test won't read till about 1 week late.....maybe even 2.  Your best bet if you want to know right now is to have your doc do a blood test.  Other then that it's the waiting game!  Also stress is going to make you have a late period.  My sister in law was 2 weeks late because of stress and she was sure she was pregnant, but she wasn't.  Good luck stay relax and try buying the ovulation kits at the store that will tell you when your ovulating.  They have them at walmart for a good price.

also it's a good thing to do when you know your ovulating to have s*x and wait 2-3 days then have s*x again....a males sperm will be at its best or most potential if you wait inbetween intercourse. Sperm last for up to 5 days in your system and it can take 3 days or so to find the egg.

Well if you usually have your period at day 24 and you're now at 28, I'd say it's a good sign.  I would wait until day 30 or 31 and then if you still don't have a period try another pregnancy test.  It's probably a good sign!!

well i would think it all depends on when you had s*x... 12 to forteen days between you period is normal ovulation... keep in mind it could take up to four days for sperm and egg to met so if your late i would give about two weeks after s*x to test because it takes two weeks for the pregnacy hormone which tests pick up to show up... and try to tale the test in the morning because thats when the most hormones get flushed out! :)

Psychologically speaking you wish to become pregnant which can adversely affect your menstrual cycle. Just like when i girl stresses herself out after she loses her virginity and thinks she pregnant, but her period just comes a week late. If you really want to know just head over to the doctors.

wait a bit longer and then do another test stress can make you late,unless the test is an early test from the 1st day,it will be negative,but you can still be pregnant ,i,know it,s hard but hang in there and good luck

I was 9 days late at the start of the year, did 3 tests all negative. but 2 months later found out i was pregnant.

Well dont worry same thing happen to me I took two pregnancy test after bein 5 days late and nagative I even went to mt doc and it was nagative I waited 5 days more and guess what am prego so just wait a little more maybe its still to soon dont get your hopes down

Go to the doctor sometimes a home pregnancy test is not as accurate as a blood test which is what your doctor will do.
