I've had 2 positive results from HPT & 2 negative, 1 from the docs and from the chem I'm 2wks late?

Question

I first did a home pregnancy test when I was a day late, cos I'm always regular, it was positive, I then went to the chemist and they offered me a free one which was negative the next day. So I called the docs and they advised me to bring in a first morning urine sample the next day, which I did, this one also came back negative. While I was waiting for the result from the docs, I got a little impatient and did another HPT the day after that which came back positive, I'm so confused am I or aren't I pregnant?

get a blood test way more accurate. them doing a urine test is almost the same as a HPT.  its just testing your urine which may or may not detect pregnancy right away. go get a blood test

i've had this also. i did hpt and then the dr did one and his came back neg.....wait a few days for more of the hormone to show in your body and do another hpt and if that still is positive then have a blood test done

have a little chat with your doctor about it. in this case i would really ask for a blood test. or if you can wait a little longer even an ultrasound. then you'd know for sure! good luck!

Ask your doctor to get blood work done that will tell you foresure if you are or not Godd luck

Bless your heart, I bet you ARE confused. You're just gonna have to wait and see. I'm sorry I don't know what you mean by chemist. Is that your doctor?

If I were you, I would go to an OB/GYN. They do the test, and also an exam.

Also you could try another brand of HPT. Do you have any symptoms? Like having to pee a lot? or sore b***s?

I WOULD DEFINITELY TAKE A BLOOD TEST INSTEAD OF URINE TESTS BECAUSE THE HCG IN YOUR URINE IS PROBABLY FLUCTUATING AND ISNT BEING PICKED UP IN THE TESTS. THE BLOOD TEST PICKS UP THE HCG MUCH BETTER AND CAN GIVE YOU A MORE ACCURATE RESULT. GOOD LUCK!

You can't really get a false positive test whether it be a home pregnancy test or from the doctor. The hormone the test uses to give yu a postive result is only present when you pregnant. I'd go back to the doctor and ask for another one in a few days!

It would be very unlikely that a home pregnancy test would come back positive if you where not pregnant. They detect a hormone in your body that you only release when your pregnant. Maybe as you had only just missed your period the doctor tested too soon. This happened to me once. Wait a week and ask doctor to test again. Good luck and congratulations x
