I've had a 15 year old molar tooth filling replaced recently..?

It was cracked, replaced. Now it's sensitive to cold/hot/sweet - but not al of the time. I keep it very clean indeed (although I'm partial to a little white wine/sweeties/hot food)..do you think there's a leak in the filling? shall I return to the dentist? Is this risky? Shall I just ignore it? What to do?..!

  1. Return to the dentist as it sounds like a small leak, if you dont you might find that it will feel ok after a while then you could lose the tooth later from internal decay, it could also be a small gap where he has cleaned the plaque from around the tooth which will cure itself but if he is any good at his job he wont mind just checking for you.

  2. It also could be the crack went too close to the pulp and it has been agitated during the new filling and will take some time to calm down....though sweet sensitive is usually decay...

Either way....a call to the dentist is needed.
