I've hear you can get a tax break if you rent out to a tenant with a lease for 3 months. Is this true?

I live in the state of Texas and am single. Will probably be in the 30-40 yearly income range this year. One of my renters that moved to Texas from Ohio told me about this???

    No, you get no tax breaks for generating steady income.

  3. No such thing.  I'm sure she is confusing it with something else.  If that was true, then every landlord in America would be writing leases renewable every 3 months.
