I've heard about companies paying you money to advertise on your car. How do I sign up for this?

I've found links that all cost money. Are these legitimate companies and are there free ones that you don't pay for but they pay you???

  1. Hi,

There are many ways to market a small business on the web.  You can buy banner ads, text links, or use PPC.  However, the best way is to get listed in a bunch of portals. Portals and directories are like phone books, and they often provide a lot of traffic because they tend to rank high on Google.

This portal is giving away a free business card holder for lising your business (I got mine a few days ago in the mail).  If you want to know about some other portals, just let me know.

  2. Before you pay anything make sure you meet basic requirements.  They usually require you to have a newer car.  You've got to keep it very clean and well maintained.  You must live in an area in which they want to advertise (think bigger city - not small town) and you have to do a lot of driving as well.  You won't get paid if you only drive a few miles per week.

If you don't think you could qualify based on this, I wouldn't even think of paying money to any of them.

Here's some info for you.  I'm not personally endorsing any of these places.

  3. You pretty much pay to have your vehicle available, and then you are selected by the advertising company based on a few variables.

Geographic region: you get paid more if you drive where there are more people to see it (obviously)

Car: You get more if you drive a flashy or interesting car. the bigger the car, mroe ad space. More people will stop to look at an H2 with "Coca Cola" on it, then a dodge neon. Some companies do select smaller more modest cars though, for the advertising price point and for the demographic they are appealing to (you wouldnt see a Whole Foods H2)

Average driving: Some pay you just to drive your normal routine, so if you commute heavily, it will work out well. Some expect you to literally just drive around, but then the compensation may not be as great. They claim to pay for gas, but they won't just give you an unlimited gas card. You havae to report back routes and mileage often.

Its a pretty neat way to make some extra cash, and some people dig driving around in a Jeep Wrangler on 33's that is decaled to look like a box of Oreos (a freind had that).

They use vinyl decals that dont hurt your paint, and come off easily when your contract is up. I don't have a name off the top of my head, but ya, these are usually legit companies.

  4. Yes, there are companies that pay for that..  I looked into it once but didn't do it.  Let me see if I bookmarked it.....

(BTW....a great way to offset the rising cost of gasoline)

  5. This is usually scam. Why not advertise in the shop window for that? Made advert and see what happen.
