I've heard of Mountain Lion and Bear Killing people but not wild Boar?

Question

Can any one tell me of incidents where Wild Boar have killed or even attacked anyone lately, past five years?

I have never heard of a wild hog attacking anyone without provocation.

I've known of a few hog hunters who got slashed pretty good, but the were trying to kill a bayed hog with a knife.  They were asking to get slashed up if you ask me.

It has been many years, but I can remember several instances where domestic hogs have not only killed but eaten people.

when cornered or harassed hogs will charge you. those tusks will rip you to pieces.hogs will kill and eat their own.they will also kill and eat other animals such as deer.the poster below has a very vivid imagination. killed and ate a 3 years old child?you need to go i rehab for whatever you are smoking

I've got a couple for you. Two years ago a herd of domesticated hogs knocked down a 3 year old child and ate him. Last year while hog hunting with dogs , a large boar broke out of the pack and knocked down a cousin, and in seconds he required 157 stitches to sew him back up. I've hunted in hog country all my life, and most of the time they will run as soon as they become aware of your presence. However, on rare occasions, there will be some boar that just doesn't like you in his territory. He will chase you for less then 100 yards , and then he's satisfied. What causes this I don't know. In the southern part of my state they seem to be much more aggressive then the central part. Again I don't know the answer to why this is.

I remember reading about a deer hunter who died as the result of a hog attack several years ago, he died from blood loss.

I also recall reading about a hog in Waco, Texas flipping over a utility vehicle with 3 people in it. The hog didnt attack the riders but struck the UTV so violently that the driver was taken to the hospital for injuries.

Hogs generally run from people. But they have also charged people. Here are a couple examples;

But generally they only attack when cornered or wounded. They are not like a bear or lion that will hunt you down and kill you. If you scare one its far more likely to run off. However if your not able to move and are bleeding they would be likely to eat you.

Depends on the type of pig in your area. If you're dealing with Russian Razor back they can be very aggressive. More people a year are killed by wild pigs than by sharks.
