  1. Each school is going to have a very loyal following from those that attended...  but it is a good idea to try and find former students whenever possible to get as much information about the school as you can manage before you start writing checks.  If I remember correctly.. and woweee...  going back almost 30 years here... the school in Ardmore was originally in Dallas at Love Field and was part of ATE  American Training Enterprises, which was part of American Flyers (their logo was the flying blindfolded duck with a radio strapped on his back)  and they were a well qualified and established school. I have heard good things about the school at Ardmore... the key word in all these areas would be "PROFESSIONAL"

As to results... well.. there are test results, and getting hired results.. and staying alive results...  you need to consider all three.  Some schools only train you to pass the test... Great test scores won't get you hired.. but they help... unfortunately they are useless when the spam hits the fan.. that is when you revert back to your basic most training instinct. Quality training makes ALL the difference in the world. If I was going to give only ONE piece of advice to someone coming up into aviation, it would be SPEND THE MONEY and pay for Quality, Professional training from an accredited school. The local airport with the young guy and the old guy that are the 2 CFI's  can not begin to give you the level of training that you will receive at a professional training center.  If all you want to do, is get a license and go putt around in a rented plane a few times, then the local guy will give you enough info to get a license and check out and rent his plane a few times. If you want to go forward with a CAREER in aviation, your foundation is in your training... and THAT will get you hired.

If I see a resume come across my desk and the candidate got his licenses and had a hodgepodge of hours here and there flying around on vacations and later became a CFI  or I had someone that went to a Part 141 school and nailed out his ratings... the professional training is going to get the job everytime even if the other guy had more experience.

The hiring order goes something akin to...  Owner/related to the owner  then Best Experienced then Best Trained, then Rest of the Best.   Your aviation career... is a house of cards...and most pilots have it knocked down and are forced to rebuild it several times before they are finished. You need the most solid foundation you can find to start stacking those cards, and quality professional training is that foundation.

  2. The best flying school is located in the U.S. The Al Qaeda trained there, learned to fly invisible from the radar by turning off the transponder and scored direct hits.
