Question:

I've heard that Hitler, Clinton, King David, and the Rothchilds are all related, is this true and if so how?

If you know if this is true, please tell me where I can find information about it either in books, online, or wherever. Sources in English please! I am trying to find each generation that connects these people so that I can tell exactly what relation they have to each other by putting them in a computerized family tree. Any missing generations will prevent me from being able to do this. The innumerable websites that just say that they are related and leave it at that are not helpful as it doesn't tell me how. My favorite hobby is genealogical research and trying to figure out how famous people relate to each other. This is one of the two main mysteries that I have been able to locate little about on on my own. Any help is appreciated!

  1. Do the math every generation you go back you double the amount of direct ancestors you have (in Theory ) so the further you go back the more relatives you have so the answer to your question is maybe.

  2. We are all related to each other to some degree,

so why don't you try to trace your own connection to these people ?

I'm quite sure you will be just as successfull as trying to

prove a connection between either of them, it would obviously prove to be a fruitless, pointless waste of time.

  3. I doubt you are going to prove it to any degree but yes it is well withing the realm of possibility. DNA has shown many times that a common ancestor exists. There was an article a few weeks ago where a researcher believes all blue eyed people come from one ancestor who had a genetic anomaly.

  4. If your favorite hobby is genealogy, you well know that you will not be able to prove that anyone is related to King David. So I conclude that this is political mud slinging. Take it to the politics category.

  5. Information in family trees on ANY website is usually not documented or poorly documented.  A person should not take as absolute fact everything they see in family trees on the internet.  Even when you see the same info over and over by many different subscribers, that is no guarantee it is correct. A lot of people copy without verifying.

Good genealogy requires documentation, and usually a person should try to get 3 sources of documentation for any fact.

I doubt that there are documents extant that can take anybody back to King David.  I know there are people who make such claims but  they don't have the documents to back it up.  A lot of it is speculation and jumping to conclusions even those that relate the British royal family to the Davidic line.  Good documentation does not mean someone's URL or what they read in a book unless the book provides documentation. It means birth, baptismal, marriage, death records, wills, deeds, etc.

No way am I a Clinton fan but if the persons making such claims are trying to take a dig at Bill,  that is stupid.   In everyone's family tree you are going to find saintly people and outright evil people.  So I would say to them, "what's the big deal?"
