  1. In terms of temperature? What do you mean you face all the seasons?

In theory you lose 1degCelsius for every 100m you climb, so if it's 30degC in the valley at 1500m, and you climb to 4800m, of course you're going to get a lot colder as you climb. This is true of every mountain, not one mountain in Switzerland.

However, even if you are at the top and there's frozen snow everywhere, you can still be roasting hot because of your exertion, especially if the sun is shining (especially as it's reflected off the snow).

However, mountain weather closes is notoriously fast so you could be uncomfortably hot one minute and frozen to death a couple of hours later if a storm comes in..

  2. I don't know about Switzerland, but most very large mountains have their own weather system.

Very often it will be sweltering hot at the base of a mountain down in the valley - you start up the side and there will be springs and creeks full of water and cooler conditions. Then as you start getting higher you will pass through the tree line and there will be little shade but it will be getting colder. Then at the highest elevations, you can get a warm calm day in March or you can get snow in August - just depends on what is happening that day.

    Good Luck
