Should I get an amplifier? I have my cable and PS3 hooked up to the same stereo/receiver with much louder sound.

I appreciate the insights of all the hi-fi experts!

  1. You are going to need what's called a Phono Pre-amp, my friend!  Turntables output on RCA at a much lower level, and Phono pre-amps are designed to boost it to higher standards.  THese can be found at Radio Shack, or if you are into higher quality you can get higher audiophile-quality grade pre-amps.  The entry level ones go for $30-$40 at most electronic stores.

    Hope this helps!

  2. Has your stereo phono connections or a jack marked phono.

If not what you need is a pre-amp for your phono to stereo connection, this will help boost your sound level.
