there's no instructions but you only need to plug it in so that's not a problem. But, will I know a fake note the moment I see one or is it more complex than that? I'm in Spain and there's lots of fake 50€ notes going around but I've never seen one? Can you tell me what to look for when I put a real and fake note under the uv light? Thanks!

Also is it better to leave the light on all the time or just when I'm going to check a note?

  1. The background colours and watermarks look different under UV. The only way really is to have a look at a genuine 50€ note so you know what your looking at. Regarding the light just leave it on.

  2. Well... This is in the wrong section. But, here goes:

Check your own bills under the UV light. You will notice that certain parts of the bill, be it the ink or the paper itself tend to glow. If you get a bill that doesn't glow the right way, or glows everywhere, then chances are it's fake.

Also, you should only turn it on when you need to use it because the bulbs are a bit expensive to replace.

  3. check for the strip inside the bill
